Gracefully hand painted Delfts Blauw Pastoral Vase By De Porceleyne Fles of Delft, Netherlands
Fles has dated most of their wares since 1879 using single and double letters on the base. If an item/plate is dated on the obverse, the reverse is not code dated. This coded "H" = 1886!

De Porceleyne Fles has been in continuous existence since 1653 and is considered crème de la crème of Delft production. One reason for their continued success is their wares are hand painted. Joost Thooft and partner Labouchere bought the firm in 1876. Fles pieces are sought after collectibles and the larger the item, the more detailed, the better.

- JS = painter's initials > attributed to Suhl J. ♂ 1882-1915
